Resale Royalties Aotearoa – Toi Huarau (RRA) is thrilled to acknowledge and celebrate a donation of resale royalties to the Aratoi Patrons’ Trust. The Aratoi Patrons’ Trust supports exhibitions, education programmes, and events at the Aratoi Wairarapa Museum of Art and History. A successor chose to donate their resale right to the Aratoi Patron’s Trust, so the museum now receives the resale royalty . This means that each time an eligible artwork by this artist is resold in Aotearoa New Zealand, or in reciprocating country overseas, the museum will receive the resale royalty directly from Resale Royalties Aotearoa – Toi Huarau.
“With the increasingly challenging economic environment arts and heritage organisations face Aratoi Wairarapa Museum of Art and History is humbled by the support of this generous successor.
In donating their resale royalty rights to the Aratoi Patron’s Trust, who support the sustainability of our museum, this generous gift will factor greatly into the long-term goals of Aratoi.
With this legacy Aratoi will be able to continue to support and educate future generations of artists.”

Resale royalties have become a new way to support and grow the visual arts community in Aotearoa New Zealand and this option is open to any artist or successor who received royalties under the scheme. In the first year alone over a million dollars has been collected on behalf of artists and their successors.
If you would like to donate or assign your resale royalties to support a gallery, museum, art-charity or trust, please contact us here or email kiaora@rra.org.nz to discuss your wishes.
